If You Stumble Across a Purple Fence Post, Here’s Why You Should STAY AWAY

Many people drive by trees or fence posts that have been painted purple without noticing them everyday. Recently, more people have been becoming aware of what they mean, and the news is spreading, and it’s becoming more commonly known, that when you see purple trees or fence posts, it means to stay away.

A law passed in Texas in 1997 which made purple paint a legal way of marking your property with a “no trespass” statement. Farmers and ranchers were shilling out a lot of money to replace their no trespassing signs, so the state legislature made this move. Many other states have since followed their move.

Now, why the color purple? It’s believed because even people who are color blind can see and recognize the color.
